New Electrical Installation

Dawlish, Devon

We had an enquiry through the website where a builder was converting a ground floor shop space into a residential dwelling.

He’d initially hoped to re-use some of the existing electrical installation but on closer inspection it was a little old and messy so we quoted to provide a new installation.

It was a pretty standard specification – it was a 2 bedroom ground floor flat with the 2 bedrooms and a bathroom at the rear of the property and a lounge/kitchen/diner in an open plan layout.

Due to the relatively low roof in the rear of the property, it was decided to use downlighters in the master bedroom and bathroom, bedroom 2 had a normal pendant light, the hall through to the back was also lit with downlighters, and the main living area was mixture of downlighters and ceiling fixtures.

Separate circuits were also installed for a combi boiler and a sprinkler system. (Insisted upon due to the kitchen being at the front of the building which has flats above)

All switches and lighting wiring was routed back to individual junction boxes to allow for easy future maintenance and inspection – there are no connections hidden in any of the walls or lost spaces, everything is easily accessed.

We also provided a Grade D LD2 smoke alarm system which is mains powered with a battery backup with a heat detector in the kitchen and smoke detectors in the principally habited rooms.

The customer was extremely happy with out work and we now have established an ongoing reciprocal trading relationship.
